Our History

The Foundation was established by Dr. Larry G. Selland in 1983 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation under the laws of the State of Idaho. The Foundation was created for the sole purpose of stimulating and promoting quality Career Technical Education within the state of Idaho. The Foundation is self-sustaining and relies entirely on private donations. It is not the purpose of this Foundation to supplant (nor does it receive) state and federal funds appropriated for Career & Technical Education.

The Idaho Career Technical Education Foundation, Inc. is committed to stimulating and promoting quality Career & Technical Education to fill the needs of Idaho’s growing workforce.

• Enhancing programs through industry donations

• Offering scholarships to teachers to update skills

• Offering scholarships to students to attend national competition

• Developing a statewide awareness campaign

• Promoting career-technical programs

• Collaborating with business and industry and other supportive organizations

• Fostering statewide Board representation

 

Our Vision

To be the leader among Foundations in Idaho that support Career Technical Education; a Foundation that provides resources for students, teachers and programs and reaches out to all parts of the state to form lasting partnerships between education and industry; these partnerships work for quality in Career Technical Education and result in preparation of students who excel in meeting the changing needs of the workplace.

 

United Way of Idaho

The Idaho Career Technical Education Foundation, Inc. is an officially recognized agency of the United Way of Idaho. The ICTEF serves as a primary source of scholarships for students and instructors of Career Technical Education programs.  By identifying the ICTEF as your choice of agency when contributing to the United Way, you will be serving both your community and your profession.  Please consider supporting the United Way campaign in your community this year and be sure to enter the appropriate code for the Foundation on your form.  We will all benefit from your contribution.
